I’m a young reporter working at a local newspaper in a Fort Worth suburb. I cover education, city government and local events.

I have written for The Texas IndependentCampus Progress and The Washington Independent. I love covering politics (especially how policy affects people) and culture — I have written about immigration, education, the economy and minority issues, and I’ve covered events like pro-life benefits and Tea Party rallies. I am especially interested in covering under-reported issues like women’s rights, worker’s rights and the working class.

Sometimes I blog about food, music and other fun things. And I have been guilty of using my Tumblr as a diary.

A Fort Worth native, I graduated from Ithaca College in Dec. 2009 with a B.A. in Writing.

Other things you might be interested to know:

I work part time at a local restaurant and bar, and I love it.

I enjoy riding my bike, eating pho ga at my favorite Vietnamese place, bonfires, proper grammar, going to the lake in the summertime, the Texas Rangers, and listening to NPR’s All Things Considered.

My favorite book is Hunter S. Thompson’s “The Rum Diary” and Ted Conover is my favorite writer.
